Don’t Believe A Thing You Think!
Many people incorrectly assume their thoughts are essentially true. This is not the case. And this is exactly why so many people struggle with self-doubt and self-defeat issues.
Your intellectual mind is part of you. But it’s not you. The same is true of your emotional processes.
Wrap your mind around this one because it’s really important: Your mind is always flowing with thoughts, impressions, and ideas. And your emotional center is always producing the chemical reactions your mind/body interprets as feelings. Many of your thoughts and feelings just roll out on autopilot based on stimuli in your environment, memories, and habitual response.
You are under absolutely no obligation whatsoever to entertain the thoughts passing through your mind. And you most definitely do not need to take any particular emotional state seriously!
You can and should release negative, toxic thoughts as soon as you become aware of them. Just let them go and then focus on empowering thoughts that serve you.
And you can do the same with your emotions. A bad feeling is a sign that you are in the wrong mood; take note, let go, and then intentionally produce good feeling emotions instead.
You are not your thoughts. And you are not your feelings.
These things are only a part of you. You, the observer who can watch your thoughts and emotions pass by, can choose which thinking and feeling to entertain, and once you understand this you are an enlightened human being.
