Stopping Obsessive Thoughts with the Law of Attraction
You can stop obsessive thoughts effectively with the Law of Attraction. In fact, this can be one of the most effective ways to stop such life thoughts, because it focuses on you understanding what is happening to you within that very moment you experience these obsessive thoughts. The Law of Attraction doesn’t push you into discovering WHY you think these thinks, which can be counterproductive by merely fueling your obsession.
Understanding what is happening
When you have obsessive thoughts, you’re like a hamster running on its wheel. You don’t get anywhere but the more you think of these obsessive thoughts the faster you run and the more frustrated you become.
What you need to do is get some traction back and grab on to something else that will stop you running in circles on this wheel of obsessive thoughts. Imagine you’re no longer a hamster in its wheel but you are a person riding a bicycle. Now you can go somewhere – and where you go is exactly where you look. A bicycle has to follow your eye line.
Just as if you are riding a bicycle staring into a pothole, you’re likely to fall into it, if you have obsessive thoughts you are a rabbit in the headlights, you can’t look elsewhere so you meet disaster with a nasty bump. That doesn’t have to happen to you.
Getting the Traction Back
If you feel controlled by your obsessive thoughts, don’t worry, you can change that. The traction comes from getting back in touch with your true life thoughts and your true feelings. Make your feelings authentic again and you once more put power into your creative visualization.
If you have obsessive thoughts, it is tempting to want to blame someone or something or to claim the moral high ground. But what good will that do? What is more important: spinning around the wheel feeling you were right and everyone else was wrong, blaming them for that – or achieving peace of mind and happiness?
Getting Rid of Obsessive Thoughts
You can do this with creative visualization. First, make a note of your obsessive thoughts. Think about how they make you feel. Be honest and be real about it. Then, give yourself a gut reality check – is it making you feel any better to delve deep into these negative feelings? Probably not. It’s time to let go.
Imagine your hamster wheel of obsessive thoughts spinning faster and faster. Then see this wheel becoming a sphere of light and power. Feel this sphere of light being absorbed into your core. Be aware of how your body feels, not what your head is telling you. Then cast out those obsessive thoughts. Leave behind the power as you realize that what really matter is how you feel inside: happy, powerful, and content.
